AAT ICAS 9040 ✧ licensing overview
AAT reserves all rights related to ICAS licensing.
licensees for each grade of ICAS licensing are responsible for compliance with applicable laws pertaining to particular uses of ICAS, and also for compliance with ICAS standards. licensees are responsible for complying with the deprecation of ICAS features of previous versions not supported by a subsequent effective version. licensees should ensure that any ICAS applications or resources integrate pertinent methods and features to ensure ICAS licensing compliance. AAT reserves the right to clarify ICAS standards for licensees and to set applicable licensing conditions based on AAT ICAS administrative policies and objectives (AAT ICAS 9020).
licensees for each grade of ICAS licensing are expressly granted limited copyrights to the use of effective AAT ICAS standards materials within the scope of licensee use. uses of AAT ICAS standards materials must sufficiently reference AAT ICAS (please see AAT ICAS 9059), and must also conform with an effective version of ICAS standards (please see AAT ICAS 9010). uses of AAT ICAS standards materials by licensees must also clearly identify licensee. however ICAS standards materials shall not be used for advertising or product endorsement purposes (does not apply to the use of approved conformance level graphics for purposes of communicating conformance, or for user documentation of system or product features).
licensees are permitted the use of appropriate ICAS system identifiers (for example, ICAS, IDC, NC, NDN, or UC) and graphics in designating applications or methods (for example, products, documents, directories, or userids) within the scope of licensee use. the use of any ICAS identity graphics (per AAT ICAS 2027) other than the official ICAS graphics may require prior approval.
licensees are permitted to specify ICAS licensing status, however must not misrepresent ICAS licensing or identity. except for the specification or designation of approved administrative or localization licensee identifiers, the use of ICAS terms and graphics must be represented distinct from licensee identities. the use of ICAS system identifiers within an Internet domain name or other representation of identity for any use of ICAS is moreover reserved to AAT. licensees with existing similar names or identifiers should particularly specify matters of identity and matters of ICAS licensing.
licensees are responsible for the appropriate use of ICAS element sets.
